Stainless Steel Is About To Get A Brass Kicking

I am gonna be honest- I have had a hard time writing this post. Gold fixtures have been popping up more and more on my Pinterest (or maybe I have just been on Pinterest more) and I found myself pinning every simplistic white kitchen or bathroom with gold finishes.
I put my blog post on hold for awhile, until I walked in to this hotel room...
This was my hotel room at the St. Pierre in Quebec City. The room was clean, fresh, and simplistic, the way I often picture European vacation cottages. The beauty of the room came not from the furniture or the fabrics, but the exposed brick walls, aged floors, and the beautiful natural light illuminating the golds and coppers in the room. The exposed piping went all the way across the ceiling, as the walls were most like set in place long before piping became a necessity, but the copper piping didn't look obstructive because it added so much warm character to the space.

The Hotel St. Pierre helped me to confirm that gold is beginning to take first place again over silver. Gold is very fashionable. It is bold, elegant, and a celebrated status of wealth. Many are beginning to turn away from the futuristic look of stainless steel and look towards fixtures which look historic and handmade.

This may sound bad, but I feel strongly that gold is going to be the new stainless steel because stainless steel has become the norm on home renovation shows. On most of HGTV's shows, house hunters are always listing off stainless steel appliances and granite as necessities (no offense to HGTV, those are my people).

$200 more expensive than its equal in chrome (Delta Faucets), but it is antimicrobial and very posh. It balances so well with white marble and subways tiles, which are also very stylish right now. Alright, I am at this point again where I feel that this blog post isn't especially complex, so I am just going to leave you all with this image of a ridiculously beautiful bathroom and the strong words that stainless steel is about to get a BRASS KICKING.
